These are some of the services provided by the Village...

The Village Department of Public Works maintains Village streets, storm sewers, culverts, and sanitary sewer mains.  The property owner is responsible for water service from the residence to the curbstop at the water main. Onondaga County maintains and plows the County-managed roads within the Village; New York State handles Route 31 going through the Village.

Street maintenance & snowplowing

The Village manages the contract with We Care Organics, the contract waste hauler.  Residents must dispose of household waste in see-through plastic bags. Stickers obtained from the Village Hall must be applied to the bags for the waste to be picked up. “Blue bins” for recycling can also be obtained free of charge at the Village Hall.  The DPW also picks up bagged leaves, piled brush, and Christmas trees in the spring and fall

Waste disposal & recycling

The Village Justice Court handles criminal, civil, small claims, parking, vehicle and traffic, and other matters that occur in the Village.  Court is held on the first and third Tuesdays at 6PM on the second floor of the Village Hall.

Justice Court

The Village manages an ongoing sidewalk replacement program.  The DPW arranges for and the Village’s operating expenses cover the replacement of sidewalk. If you need or desire to replace a portion of your sidewalk, contact the DPW to see where your area stands for replacement.  The Village DPW also plows all sidewalks in the winter.
